A Clockwork Pern
Hatching Rules and Procedures
1. Begging for a certain color will likely result in you not impressing period. If you complain about what you get, you may be banned. Impressing is an honor, and very few people on Pern get to do so.
2. Do not beg ICly either. There is a difference between the natural expectations of a character and outright begging.
3. Hatchings will last several days, and may go over a week. They're long anticipated events- we're not going to give you all the babies in just one day. Where would be the fun in that?
4. Candidates can only wear white robes and simple sandals. They may not wear any form of jewelry and their pets may not accompany them onto the sands.
5. Candidates may not touch a baby dragon unless they have Impressed to it. Anything else will result in chomping on by mom.
6. Candidates may be mauled or even killed, but your character will not without your permission.
7. Our procedure goes something like this. Baby dragon hatches, finds its bonded, announces name to bonded and to public at large. The Impression will be public, and you will receive a profile with all the dragon's information through PM.
8. Most dragons will Impress to NPCs, some of which will be made adoptable. This is so we consistently have Candidates for new clutches. Don't worry if you don't Impress- we may be saving you for next time!
