Appearance: In the past, Nanel was a lovely woman, but the past ten Turns have been hard on her. She looks twenty Turns older, shrunken and stooped. Her formerly auburn hair is now gray- what little is left of it anyway. Illness has made her look breakable, as if a stiff wind would blow her over. Her once brown eyes are now filmed, and her sight is extremely limited.
Personality: Once a command, vivacious woman, Nanel has almost no voice anymore. People treat her with respect simply because she's ill. There is little to note of her anymore- only that she is waiting for the day when she and Simulth can fly between forever. That waiting is written into every feature in her face.
History: Impressed at age twenty to gold Simulth, and became senior Weyrwoman five Turns later. Two Turns ago, Simulth produced her first, and thus far, only Queen. She began getting ill five Turns ago, and now is very near death.
